Notation arrondi ou valeur approchée

Bonjour,
Quel est le symbole officiel à utiliser pour un arrondi (deux vagues l'une au-dessus de l'autre ou une vague soulignée par un trait horizontal ?).
Il paraît qu'ils n'ont pas la même signification ...

jette un oeil ici.
Après, je ne sais où on peut trouver un dictionnaire encore plus contemporain de notations standards en maths (elles évoluent tout le temps !). Fred ou Yoshi pourraient te dire, ou un petit nouveau chez nous, Ostap Bender (mais on ne sait pas encore ce qu'il fait dans la vie, alors qu'on connait les activités des deux premiers).

De mon temps, on utilisait le symbole "peu différent de" qu'on notait par un signe d'égalité barré deux fois, il y a ... oups, il se fait tard :-)

Pour moi, c'est clairement [tex]\approx[/tex] d'ailleurs son code LateX est \approx.
Existent encore [tex]\simeq[/tex] et [tex]\cong[/tex]...

Dans ma jeunesse, on utilisait [tex]\simeq[/tex], puis il me semble que ça a changé puisque c'est aussi le symbole du courant alternatif...

J'ai fait une recherche pour avoir les idées plus claires et je suis tombé ici :

First things first. Symbol[tex] \approx[/tex] (\approx) means approximately equal and should be used when dealing with numbers (for example [tex]\pi \approx 3[/tex]). Symbol \Simeq ([tex] \simeq[/tex] ) on the other hand means similar or equal, which is definitely not the case with fixed values like numbers, it is usually used with functions (for example [tex] \sin x \simeq x)[/tex]. I believe I am clear on this: all number relationships should use [tex]\approx[/tex] instead of \simeq.     no, not okay. [tex]\approx[/tex] means approximately equal and there is no reason why it couldn't be used for functions.[tex] \simeq [/tex] means homotopic.--MarSch 15:02, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
